The 139th Canton Fair Opens with Record Number of Exhibitors
The 139th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) opened on April 15th in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. This year's fair features over 32,000 exhibitors, including more than 11,000 high-quality enterprises with specialized, refined, and innovative technologies or single-item champion titles, both exceeding previous levels.
In line with new trends and characteristics in foreign trade development, this year's Canton Fair has increased its product zones to 179, including nine newly added zones for smart wearables, display technology, consumer drones, integrated housing, and garden facilities. More new enterprises, products, and technologies are reaching the world and serving global consumers.
Among the exhibitors, 60% have their own brands, nearly 20% have invested overseas, and over one-third are transitioning from selling products to exporting "products + services." Meanwhile, 210 institutions have set up booths to provide customized services such as smart warehousing, AI quality inspection, and intelligent supply chains.
Buyers Seek New Opportunities Amid Middle East Turmoil: The current situation in the Middle East is disrupting global trade and supply chains, making Middle East trade a focal point of this year's Canton Fair.
The regional situation is creating short-term logistical pressure on export companies. In response, China SINOWIN company is optimizing logistics routes and expanding alternative ports. Due to the impact of the Strait of Hormuz's navigation situation, the company's transportation costs have increased significantly. Currently, it plans to ensure supply through third-party transshipment, with some orders scheduled for shipment in two to three months, depending on the situation.
