Main Applications of Ammonium Chloride

Agricultural : Ammonium chloride is a fast-acting nitrogen fertilizer with a nitrogen content of 24%–25%. It is mainly used in crops such as wheat, cotton, and ramie, and is especially suitable for rice paddies because it can inhibit nitrification, promote the formation of rice stem fibers, increase toughness, and reduce lodging and pests.

In the chemical industry, ammonium chloride is used as an analytical reagent, in the manufacture of dry cell batteries and storage batteries, other ammonium salts, electroplating additives, and metal welding fluxes. It is also used in tanning, candle making, precision casting, zinc plating, and tin plating.

 Of course, ammonium chloride also used in food industry as a dough conditioner, mixed with sodium bicarbonate, mainly in baked goods ( bread and biscuits).

So ammonium chloride has a wide range of applications in agriculture, chemical industry,  food and other fields.
