Applications of methylbenzene/Toluene:

1. Toluene is mainly produced from crude oil through a petrochemical process. As a solvent it is used in oils, resins, natural and synthetic rubbers, coal tar, bitumen, cellulose acetate, as a solvent for cellulose paints and varnishes, 

2. Used for photographic plate making and inks. 

3. Toluene is widely used as solvent and high octane gasoline additive, and is also an important raw material in organic chemical industry. 

4. A series of intermediates derived from toluene, widely used in dyes; Medicine; Pesticides; Auxiliaries; The production of fine chemicals such as spices is also used in the synthetic materials industry.
